So, last week me and a couple of my girls decided to get dressed up, have a girls night and go see Beyonce's new documentary/concert style film "Renaissance" and let's just say that it was nothing short of AMAZING!
As a 90's baby and 2000's kid, I remember watching Beynce as she went from the lead vocalist of Destiny's Child to the solo superstar that she is today and seeing that growth was definitely a huge part of why I work so hard towards my dreams today - as a little black girl, she made me feel like it was possible! Not to give away too many spoliers for those who still want to see it, but it was so nice seeing Beyonce not just as an "untouchable" celebrity but also seeing Beyonce: the mother, Beyonce: the boss and Beyonce: the perfomer. She really gave enough in this documentary, without giving away too much.
Another part of the film that I enjoyed, was seeing her costume/fashion pieces for the show. Beyonce did a number of outfit changes throughout her concert and depending on what city she was in, she'd wear an alternate piece. It was nice to see how much effort she truly put in to give her fans an amazing show, from surprise celebrity guest, to her daughter Blu making an appearance, to her amazing dance moves - Beyonce gave everyone something to remember!
This movie was nothing short of inspiring, uplifting and enjoyable, definitely a 10 out of 10!
